To the village, to the aunt, to the wilderness, to Canada

When I was looking for housing, I was unpleasantly surprised by the lack of hotels in Vancouver with the required configuration – there were no triple rooms for a reasonable price, therefore I resorted to airbnb.com, where I almost immediately found a good option. And there, in the house of a certain “free artist” Dave, we headed in the morning after leaving the hospitable cruise ship.
The first question is about Vancouver: from the windows of the taxi I noticed that along many streets there are not 2 lines of trolleybus wires (round trip), but as many as 4, however, they do not intersect with each other. For what? So that trolleybuses can overtake each other? Stupid … Most likely, the lines are stretched by competing trolleybus fleets, which could not share the costs of laying them?

Old Quebec

The old city is not very large, and there should be enough day for a surface inspection. Against the background of European cities, it would not be very noticeable, but for North America the square kilometer of a rather integral ensemble of the 18th and 19th centuries is a completely unique thing. Cities of this time are also in the USA (for example, Newport), but the architecture there is completely different. Quebec, despite the fact that most of the center was built or rebuilt under the British, retains clear features of French influence, and the presence of the fortress wall and the St. Lawrence River – the second most powerful North American watercourse – makes it unique. Treasures of British Columbia

This is a unique expedition trip, formed on the basis of a five-year study of the nature and history of the beautiful Canada. One journey combines a unique layer of experiences from expeditions to whales and hikes through centuries-old forests, to exploring the culture of Russian Dukhobors – Fred Macortoff (head of Russian Dukhobors in British Columbia and professor) will spend the whole day with us. Gold-ghost cities and wild hot springs – this experience is combined from more than 20 individual routes into one – the most informative and beautiful.

The route is organized so that the active days of adventure are combined with a day of tranquility, and a day full of excursions with the silence of the Pacific Ocean or wild lakes.

Upon request, it is possible to conduct photo shoots, yoga classes, training in the basics of survival in the wild, surfing and diving, seminars on emigration and training in Canada, or a trip to Canada’s highest waterfall by helicopter. Continue reading
